What’s the purpose of this web site?

“A Better Fort Lauderdale” has been designed to be a collaborative web site for Fort Lauderdale residents who are concerned about our City’s future.

This site has two main goals:

First, to give those Fort Lauderdale residents (who are knowledgeable and concerned about a particular issue in our City) a way to post that information for all to read.

Second, it is the goal of this site to be linked to as many residents of Fort Lauderdale as possible, through grass roots networking (ie: Facebook). We currently have over 10,500 email addresses that our information is being sent to today. Our goal is to be able to share our information with more than 15,000 subscribers regularly.

What we are not: We are not a blog site that will promote hate, rumors, gossip or personal attacks on any person or group.

What we are: We are a site for everyone in Fort Lauderdale (Republicans, Democrats, Independents, Straight, Gay, Black, White, Wealthy, Poor, Employer, Employee, Homeowner, Condo Owner, Tenant), who is concerned about the quality of life in our City and wants to become more knowledgable about the issues that are affecting us here..

If we can accomplish our goals, we hope to have a more informed citizenry who will be able to provide better oversight over our elected officials.

AND PLEASE NOTE: Because different contributors will be making posts to this site, you may not always agree with the CONTENT of the site, but you should hopefully agree with the CONCEPT of the site.
